There are watch movements and there are Lange chronograph movements, and this one backs that statement fully. Presented in a charming pink gold case, this second generation 1815 chronograph is perhaps the most legible and clean of the series, without an extra scale, which also helps the dial feel bigger and the watch present larger.
Case: The 39.5 x 48.5 x 10.8 mm pink gold case appears to be unpolished with all lug facets and original geometry clearly and evenly defined. The case is free from any notable imperfections and presents very nicely with all engravings deep and crisp.
Dial: The matte white dial is free from any defects and features the distinctive 1815-style Arabic numerals and quarter hour markings laying a perfect backdrop to the heat blued hands. The dial is free from any imperfections.
Movement: If you’ve heard it said, “you can get lost in a Lange Chronograph movement,” or “the depth and dimensionality of the movement is like nothing else,” or, that “it’s like a tiny mechanical city,” well… all those things are true. Lange’s finishing is impressive at any level, but this is next level; so many different finishes, layers, textures, and endless details featured in the 320 component movement. The movement is winding, setting, and operating smoothly and correctly at approximately +3 s/d averaged across 6 positions.
Includes: The original outer box and sleeve and inner leather box are included along with the matching signed pink gold buckle. The watch is presented on a B&R bands brown calf leather strap in good condition.
