Purchasing
All watches are sold on a first invoiced, first paid basis. Partial payments, deposits, and holds are not available.
Payment by ACH (for US customers) or wire in USD only. All sales will generate an invoice with payment instructions and details provided.
Any currency conversion fees or import fees / duties / taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.
All sales include a 48 hour inspection period from time of delivery/receipt. Should a watch ship to a holding location, the inspection window starts from time of delivery or reasonable pickup window (i.e. items held at a location and not opened for a period of time cannot be returned unless materially misrepresented or the item is damaged.)
Returns within the 48 hour inspection period will be refunded less shipping costs both ways, within 2 business days of receipt, provided the watch and accessories are received in their original condition.
Outside of the 48 hour inspection period, all sales are final unless the watch has been misrepresented, arrives damaged, or other material issue is discovered. At the end of the day, I’m a reasonable person and I will work to support and stand by any watch sold. Favoring originality of 20+ year old watches means that I cannot always foresee a mechanical issue that may result and cannot stand behind any misuse beyond my control. The condition and function is represented as accurately as possible.
Shipping
Insured shipping within the continental US is included in all pricing shown. International shipping is available at cost based on destination. Please contact me with your location for an estimate.
All items are generally shipped within 1 business day of receipt of payment, unless otherwise discussed.
i.e. I do try to avoid shipments over weekends and holidays to mitigate risk of items sitting in hubs and on trucks.
All watches are fully insured for the price paid.
Shipping is generally provided by FedEx, unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon.
Shipping to a commercial address or FedEx office location is strongly encouraged for security and speed of shipment. All shipments will require signature.
Consignment
I will consider consignment sales on a case by base basis, depending on the watch being offered and it’s fit to the general meticulist audience, my relationship with the consignor, and the consignor’s expectations.
An insured shipping label will be provided to the consignor; all watches consigned must be in my possession.
The commission structure is tiered based on the total price of the transaction including inbound and outbound shipping based on the following rates:
$10,000 and below: $500 + 3% of the gross transaction, including shipping costs.
$10,001 - $25,000: 7% of the gross transaction, including shipping costs.
$25,001 - $100,000: 6% of the gross transaction, including shipping costs.
$100,001 - $200,000: 5% of the gross transaction, including shipping costs.
Above $200,000: 3% of the gross transaction, including shipping costs.
All consignment payouts will be made after the 48 hour buyer inspection period is complete by ACH or wire transfer, less any costs incurred and approved by the consignor, including shipping.
Trades will be considered on a very limited case by case basis, depending on the watch being offered and it’s fit to the general meticulist audience, my relationship with the client, and the client’s expectations.
In general, trades are not ideal, as I often find the trade being offered is considered at list or asking prices, and not the wholesale price needed to account for the additional time to receive, inspect, prep, and list another watch for sale.
For a dealer, a trade represents an additional watch to list and quickly sell or generate the revenue needed to sustain the business, it’s not simply substituting one offering for another, as the time needed to list a watch for sale needs to be considered. We (dealers) would generally strongly prefer to consign or straight purchase the watch being considered.
An insured shipping label will be provided.
