Daniel Roth Le Sentier Double Signed Wallner Ref. 2177 Full Set
Daniel Roth Le Sentier Double Signed Wallner Ref. 2177 Full Set
Quite possible the most versatile Daniel Roth made even more special, not just by being a full set, but being a dual signed dial, with matching strap and paperwork. If you appreciate the Roth aesthetic, but perhaps lead that tool watch lifestyle, this one is made in stainless with a screw down crown for ultimate versatility. Oh, and did I mention that this one is co-signed on the dial, strap, and paperwork as a limited numbered edition in excellent, minimally worn condition?!
Case: The 35.25 x 44.5 (lug to lug) x 8.9 mm thick stainless-steel case is in very good condition throughout, free of any notable scratches or imperfections. The matching stainless steel double ellipse buckle is also exceptionally clean, showing little to no wear.
Dial: The classic Le Sentier dial layout with vertical guilloche pattern enclosed within a guilloche border is co-signed “Wallner” at 6 o’clock. The dial is free of any imperfections, and the rich heat blued hands, with lume filled hour and minute pointers absolutely pop against this dial. I particularly adore the intentionality of hand length and proportions that not only create great legibility, but the curved-bar counter weight on the central seconds hand perfectly matches the interior radius of the hour triangle, perfectly mating once per minute.
Movement: The quickset date and hacking seconds JLC base caliber 889 is winding, setting, date changing properly, with positive engagement of the screw down crown as well. The watch is running very well at approximately +7 s/d across six positions, service history is unknown.
Includes: Original signed outer box, double ellipse leather inner box, Certificate of Origin confirming production number 25 and the “Speciale” dial with “Wallner”, is also signed by Daniel Roth. The matching original Wallner signed strap is also included, as is the original double ellipse buckle in stainless steel.
Like with the Seconds at 6, this watch is so incredibly comfortable, wearable, and versatile, and could easily consume most collections since the dial and shape keep things endlessly fascinating. This is very rare and special being one of the few double signed Daniel Roths period, with the matching paperwork and strap to confirm. With its original box and in exceptional condition, it’s truly a complete package.
