the sub register : springtime vintage goodies

It's the first day of Basel World, so I'm not going to spend too much time in depth with the overload of watch info coming through, but the following definitely caught my eye recently, so let's dig in.

Excelsior Park EP 4 Chronograph

Longtime readers of #thesubregister will know that I have a very soft spot for EP 4 / EP 40 caliber chronographs, and this watch exemplifies why.  The layout is so, so clean, with awesome blued steel hands, fantastic numerals, and the great font.  Add in a perfect 36mm size case in steel and a sublime manually wound, column wheel chronograph, and it just doesn't get much better.  $2150 EUR or best offer on ChronoTrader here.

Seiko Square Dress Watch

This picture perfectly sums up why I like this watch.  Nomos does it so well, and this one keep similar proportions and an even cleaner (dressier) aesthetic, with a hand wound Seiko caliber for $250 shipped.  What's not to like here?

Zenith 143-6 EP4 Chronograph

Keeping with the EP4 caliber theme, this Zenith shares many of the same proportions, cleanliness, and excellent movement, albeit with a bit more patina (wear) on the dial, though the price is lower to reflect as such.  As always, keep the price of a service factored in when purchasing, and this one is listed at $1950 on OmegaForums, from a reputable seller and good guy, here.

Movado M95 Gold Chronograph

By the time this posts, this one will have ended, so I'm very interested to see how it finishes out.  Along with the Excelsior Park calibers, I would very much like to own a Movado M95 manually wound column wheel chronograph.  These movement are also said to be quite a joy to operate, and the looks are so good with the Breguet numerals, stubby pushers, and red chronograph register hands.  This is sitting at $2550 with 12 hours to go on eBay here.
