Update Edition

Now entering the heart of summer, this Monthly Roundup is more of an update, request, and some housekeeping, with a few odds and ends thrown in for good measure. 

Update

A reader brought it to my attention that I’m starting to get a lot of content on the site, most of which is on the blog, which wasn’t easily searchable.  I have since added a search bar on almost every page, including the blog, to allow you to quickly search the entire site for anything.  Thank you for the suggestion, and let me know if you have any others.

What do you all want to see more of?  What questions on espresso do you have?  What information can I dig into or do you find frustrating when you search the internet?  I don’t refer to it as knowledge, since I’ve simply researched and weighed through the information, so I will continue to compile information on topics and how-tos as much as possible, but if there are specific topics you all find vexing, please reach out and let me know!

Odds and Ends

XLR8 Performance MSS Kits Summer Sale

As indicated in the long term ownership report of the Audi RS3 here, I think this single best cosmetic upgrade that can be made to this car is to lower it (slightly), particularly in the front, where there is a quite a bit of wheel well gap.  I’ve been kind of waiting to see what else comes out and what the longer term usage feedback is, and so far, the comments from the MSS Kits users are all very positive.  I also really like the idea of doing it right and making sure I can set the stance where I want it on this car, with a system that was designed to work well with the mag ride.  The drawback to this system has been the cost at nearly $1200.  Well, through the end of July XLR8 Performance if offering 10% off MSS Kits and free shipping, bringing an RS3 spring setup to around $1,079.10 here.

Watches

I’ve thrown out a few offers on some random vintage watches as of recent, and as a result, I think a few will need to find new homes.  Keep your eyes peeled on Instagram in the coming weeks for any postings. 

Summertime = Rubber (NATO) Strap Time

Surprisingly, two of the most visited posts on the site are the Ownership Report of the Bonetto Cinturini Zuludiver and the Long Term Ownership Report of the Zuludiver.  Now entering its second season, the zuludiver strap is back on the trusty Seiko SKX013 and has been receiving plenty of abuse in the yard, pool, and getting ready for some more camping duty.  This strap wears so well, washes easily, and is still in great shape considering some what’s been thrown at it.  

nICE Cooler

Speaking of camping, I needed a new cooler this year, and have been reluctant to go down the whole Dad-cred rotomold cooler rabbit hole, but kind of on whim and after some research, I just ordered a nICE 75.  Provided it gets here on time it will go straight into a 6 day camping trip, so look for the purchasing process / ownership report on it later this summer.
